Plants and plant parts that we mainly harvest in July.

Get to know and identify medicinal plants and edible wild herbs along the way and learn interesting facts about how to use them at home for your well-being, health or enjoyment.

Different herbs and medicinal plants sprout throughout the year - different parts of the plant such as buds, leaves, flowers, seeds or roots are collected at different times of the year.

Being able to clearly recognise the plants on a hike all year round is an exciting experience for all ages.

What to expect: Herbs: Recognising, identifying, smelling, tasting and feeling edible wild plants and medicinal herbs.

Inspiring hike: We discover well-known and new plants along the way and learn about their wonderful properties. You will be amazed and perceive nature with different eyes afterwards.

Sharing: I experience time and again that participants are deeply touched by the plants and are happy to share their joy with others (shared joy is double the joy).

An evening of celebration in a unique atmosphere with various offers and stands that invite you to linger and relax at the end of the working day. The small but exquisite event is accompanied by music and the great atmosphere that the historic town centre of Haltern am See has to offer. It simply feels good and has already been described by some visitors as a small local festival!

In cooperation with Lippe-Kanu-Tours from Dorsten, the city agency is once again offering canoe adventure tours on the Lippe during the spring and summer season. Participants experience the winding Lippe from a boat's perspective and enjoy a unique nature experience. The Lippe meanders about 10 kilometres through the nature reserve between Datteln-Ahsen and Haltern-Flaesheim and offers unique insights into the beautiful winding river landscape and the natural banks - a river with many faces. The tours start at 11 a.m. at the Haltern-Flaesheim meeting point and last a total of approx. 4 hours. The participant price including bus transfer is 36 euros for adults, children up to 17 years pay 24 euros. The participant price includes 3 and/or 4-seater canoes, life jackets, a waterproof rucksack, a tour guide, a bus transfer and boat transport.

On the trail of the stag beetle's habitat.

An exploratory excursion on foot through the Holtwicker Heide. The excursion is full of ideas to familiarise children and adults with the habitats of beetles. On this eventful circular walk, the importance, endangerment and protection possibilities of insects and stag beetles will be demonstrated.

Payment options: The participation fees will be collected by the management directly before the start of the respective event. Only cash payment is possible.

Haltern am See is a charming town in the northern Ruhr region, which is not only known for its picturesque location on the lake of the same name, but is also an attractive shopping town. The town centre offers a diverse selection of shops, boutiques and cafés that invite you to stroll and linger. Here, visitors will find both large retail chains and local providers that impress with unique products and personalised service. The combination of natural recreation and an appealing range of shops makes Haltern am See a popular destination for shopping enthusiasts and day trippers alike.

The potato tour starts at 2.30 pm by bike (travelling by car is also possible). After a small reception with corn and lard bread, we will follow the path of our potatoes together.

What does that mean? From potato patties, roast potatoes or potatoes in sacks to the field.

After a tour of the plant and machinery, we cycle to our potato field 2 kilometres away.

The tour ends at the Hagedorn farm with a table service.

The theme is of course "potatoes".
