The potato tour starts at 2.30 pm by bike (travelling by car is also possible). After a small reception with corn and lard bread, we will follow the path of our potatoes together.

What does that mean? From potato patties, roast potatoes or potatoes in sacks to the field.

After a tour of the plant and machinery, we cycle to our potato field 2 kilometres away.

The tour ends at the Hagedorn farm with a table service.

The theme is of course "potatoes".

The popular concert series by the lake continues.

Christian Zehren from the Rossini team has once again put together a mix of different musical styles. The programme includes both new and well-known bands.

The spectrum ranges from rock and oldies covers, Irish folk and rockabilly to singer-songwriters. There's something for your ears every Sunday in July and August!

The Westruper Heide stretches across open countryside in the immediate vicinity of the Haltern Reservoir. Bizarre juniper trees amidst the vast heathland offer a striking sight. Today, the Westruper Heide is a nature reserve and is home to numerous animal and plant species that have become rare. Following the guided tours, visitors have the opportunity to visit the ‘World’s Smallest Heath Museum’. This small but charming museum, housed in a heathland cottage, has been lovingly set up by the Hohe Mark e.V. nature park guides and, within a very small space, offers wonderful insights into the life and survival of people, animals and plants on the heath.

Nadezda Pisareva was born in 1987 to a couple who were both musicians. She graduated from the Central Moscow Music School and went on to study with Sergei Dorensky at the Moscow Conservatoire and – thanks to a DAAD scholarship – with Klaus Hellwig at the Berlin

University of the Arts, where she also passed her concert examination. Masterclasses with Elisabeth Leonskaja, Abdel Rachman El Bacha, Maia João Pires, Stephen Kovacevic and others rounded off her training.

Between the sun, sand and salty air, the beach is transformed into an open-air stage full of humour, charm and good humour. Get to know and identify medicinal plants and edible wild herbs along the way and learn interesting facts about how to use them at home for your well-being, health or enjoyment.

Different herbs and medicinal plants sprout throughout the year - different parts of the plant such as buds, leaves, flowers, seeds or roots are collected at different times of the year.

Being able to clearly recognise the plants on a hike all year round is an exciting experience for all ages.

What to expect: Herbs: Recognising, identifying, smelling, tasting and feeling edible wild plants and medicinal herbs.

Inspiring hike: We discover well-known and new plants along the way and learn about their wonderful properties. You will be amazed and perceive nature with different eyes afterwards.

An evening of celebration in a unique atmosphere with various offers and stands that invite you to linger and relax at the end of the working day. The small but exquisite event is accompanied by music and the great atmosphere that the historic town centre of Haltern am See has to offer. It simply feels good and has already been described by some visitors as a small local festival!

In cooperation with Lippe-Kanu-Tours from Dorsten, the city agency is once again offering canoe adventure tours on the Lippe during the spring and summer season. Participants experience the winding Lippe from a boat's perspective and enjoy a unique nature experience. The Lippe meanders about 10 kilometres through the nature reserve between Datteln-Ahsen and Haltern-Flaesheim and offers unique insights into the beautiful winding river landscape and the natural banks - a river with many faces. The tours start at 11 a.m. at the Haltern-Flaesheim meeting point and last a total of approx. 4 hours. The participant price including bus transfer is 36 euros for adults, children up to 17 years pay 24 euros. The participant price includes 3 and/or 4-seater canoes, life jackets, a waterproof rucksack, a tour guide, a bus transfer and boat transport.
