In 2026, the Sunset Beach Festival will once again bring everything a perfect summer's day needs: sun, sand and a line-up that reflects the diversity of the electronic music scene.

As part of his big "Best of 25 Years +2" summer tour, Jan Delay & Disko No.1 will be stopping off at the Haltern reservoir in 2026 - bringing the best of 25 years of music history to what is probably the most beautiful open-air location in the Vest. Phil Fuldner will also be there to kick off the evening with laid-back grooves.

In 2026, the Sunset Beach Festival will once again bring everything a perfect summer's day needs: sun, sand and a line-up that reflects the diversity of the electronic music scene.

With top international acts such as YouNotUs, up-and-coming artists such as Noel Holler, The Ironix, Micky Hurts and regional crowd favourites Salvatore Mancuso and Marlon Kindermann, the best atmosphere is guaranteed - electronic beats, summer feeling and pure festival atmosphere.

The combination of driving sounds, sun, sand and the special atmosphere of the Haltern am See seaside resort has made the Sunset Beach Festival a unique experience for years. For the 12th time, the Haltern reservoir is transformed into a huge open-air dance floor - a festival that no music fan should miss.

Solar power generated from your own roof is now the cheapest electricity you can get and, as an added bonus, makes you independent of energy prices. “More and more homeowners therefore want to install a solar system on their roof. Often, all they need is a bit of first-hand information on how to put it into practice,” explains Dr Markus Holt from Haltern, of the Solarenergie-Förderverein Deutschland e.V. “For this reason, the Catholic Parish of Haltern and we are jointly organising a solar information event under the motto: ‘Go for it – your roof can do it too!’” Information on solar energy, reports on experiences with personal systems and a tour of the parish’s newly installed systems. Neighbours are often amazed when they learn how rewarding and, at the same time, simple it is to generate electricity from their own roof.” No registration is required; anyone interested is welcome to simply drop by.

The Cologne Summer Festival continues to grow: the Cologne Summer Festival is coming to Haltern am See for the first time in 2026. The town in Münsterland will be transformed into a colourful sea of jolly costumes, good humour and Cologne music with a top-class line-up featuring Brings, Cat Ballou, Höhner, Bläck Fööss, Räuber, Klüngelköpp, Miljö, Druckluft and Björn Heuser. Another top act is already being planned and will be announced at a later date.

The fire brigade, German Red Cross, Malteser-Hilfs-Dienst, German Life Saving Association and the Technical Assistance Organisation will be presenting themselves: Exciting insights - demonstrations - hands-on activities for young and old - technology you can touch - emergency vehicles - rescue boats - drones - snacks & music

The popular concert series by the lake continues.

Christian Zehren from the Rossini team has once again put together a mix of different musical styles. The programme includes both new and well-known bands.

The spectrum ranges from rock and oldies covers, Irish folk and rockabilly to singer-songwriters. There's something for your ears every Sunday in July and August!

Haltern am See is a charming town in the northern Ruhr region, which is not only known for its picturesque location on the lake of the same name, but is also an attractive shopping town. The town centre offers a diverse selection of shops, boutiques and cafés that invite you to stroll and linger. Here, visitors will find both large retail chains and local providers that impress with unique products and personalised service. The combination of natural recreation and an appealing range of shops makes Haltern am See a popular destination for shopping enthusiasts and day trippers alike.

The potato tour starts at 2.30 pm by bike (travelling by car is also possible). After a small reception with corn and lard bread, we will walk the path of our potatoes together.

What does that mean? From grated potatoes, fried potatoes or potatoes in sacks to the field.

After a tour of the plant and machinery, we cycle to our potato field 2 kilometres away.

The tour ends at the Hagedorn farm with a table service.

The theme is of course "potatoes".

Plants and plant parts that we mainly harvest in July.

Get to know and identify medicinal plants and edible wild herbs along the way and learn interesting facts about how to use them at home for your well-being, health or enjoyment.

Different herbs and medicinal plants sprout throughout the year - different parts of the plant such as buds, leaves, flowers, seeds or roots are collected at different times of the year.

Being able to clearly recognise the plants on a hike all year round is an exciting experience for all ages.

What to expect: Herbs: Recognising, identifying, smelling, tasting and feeling edible wild plants and medicinal herbs.

Inspiring hike: We discover well-known and new plants along the way and learn about their wonderful properties. You will be amazed and perceive nature with different eyes afterwards.

Sharing: I experience time and again that participants are deeply touched by the plants and are happy to share their joy with others (shared joy is double the joy).
