Projektarbeitskreis Tourismus des Kreises Recklinghausen (PAKT)
Working together for more diversity: tourism in Vest Recklinghausen
The region with its medieval roots comprises a total of ten towns, from Castrop-Rauxel to Waltrop, with between 30,000 and 111,000 inhabitants - around 613,000 in total. This makes the district of Recklinghausen the largest in the whole of Germany.
An outstanding factor for the popularity of Vestes Recklinghausen as a travel destination is the extraordinarily diverse range of leisure and tourism activities on offer. These offer attractive experiences for both young and older visitors, for singles and families. The impressive industrial culture of the district is particularly unique in Germany. Here you will find a particularly dense concentration of cultural highlights in extraordinary locations that bear witness to the impressive industrial history.
The Tourism Project Working Group (PAKT), consisting of employees from the towns belonging to the district, deals intensively with the topics of leisure and tourism. This working group is coordinated and organized by the district of Recklinghausen and has set itself the task of positioning the region even more strongly as a tourist destination and developing it further.
Products for the region are developed together. These are available free of charge from the tourist information offices in the towns, but can also be downloaded using the buttons below.
