Around the charcoal pile, a colourful programme of old crafts and hands-on activities provides plenty of variety for young visitors. Whether rope-making, blue printing, leisure riders or representatives of the Hohe Mark Nature Park, freshly baked bread made from old local grains or old blacksmithing skills, visitors can experience experts on site and then purchase the finished products as souvenirs. At 11 a.m., it's time for the traditional "gut Brand" when the pile is lit together. The RVR Ruhr Grün Ranger will also be on hand to provide refreshments.

The appeal of this market lies in the balanced mix of booksellers, second-hand bookshops and many private traders who have cleared out their shelves. In addition to local vendors, the stall holders come mainly from the Ruhr and Münsterland regions. The market offers all book lovers ample opportunity to buy, sell, browse or swap printed matter of all kinds.

Because the "Fietsenfest" takes place this weekend, the shops open at 1 pm.

Different herbs and medicinal plants sprout throughout the year - different parts of the plant such as buds, leaves, flowers, seeds or roots are collected at different times of the year.

Being able to clearly recognise the plants on a hike all year round is an exciting experience for all ages.

Author Hennes Bender reads for the first time from his new Ruhr German translation of the comic "Der große Graben", the 25th volume in the Asterix series. Bender has translated what is now the tenth Asterix volume into Ruhr German. This time it is called "Der Mond von Wanne-Eickel" and is also the 105th in the series of Asterix dialect translations. This volume tells the story of Schakeline and Fritz, in which the two try to reconcile their feuding villages of Wanne and Eickel. Hennes Bender: "Dat Abenteuer is an ode to love and at the same time a call to stick together, which is exactly what the Ruhr area is all about: excitement, love, laughter and bickering. And above it all shines the moon of Wanne-Eickel!

An evening of celebration in a unique atmosphere with various offers and stands that invite you to linger and relax at the end of the working day. The small but exquisite event is accompanied by music and the great atmosphere that the historic town centre of Haltern am See has to offer. It simply feels good and has already been described by some visitors as a small local festival!

The berry tour starts at 2.30 pm with a small Secco reception at the farm.

The tour then continues to the fields and foil tunnels on the farm.

Here, everything about our cultivation and harvesting of strawberries and raspberries will be explained. Questions are definitely welcome, as are the odd product sample.

The extensive field tour ends with a cosy coffee break.

In May 2022, the first metal party took place in the Gildehaus of Schützengilde Haltern e.V. At the time, the cover band Disposable Heroes kicked things off. The event was a resounding success and was already known beyond the city limits at the time. After this successful event in 2022, the time has finally come again. It's time for the long-awaited sequel.

On the trail of the stag beetle's habitat.

An exploratory excursion on foot through the Holtwicker Heide. The excursion is full of ideas to familiarise children and adults with the habitats of beetles. On this eventful circular walk, the importance, endangerment and protection possibilities of insects and stag beetles will be demonstrated.
