A series of events to commemorate a largely suppressed chapter of post-war history: the fate of the so-called fate of the so-called Displaced Persons (DPs) in Westphalia-Lippe. On Saturday, 18 October 2025, the Stadtmühle Haltern am See invites you to a big Oktoberfest party. Guests can expect an atmospheric evening with typical Oktoberfest music, DJ sounds and classics from the marquee. Freshly tapped beer and Bavarian specialities will be served. Whether in traditional costume or not - the party continues into the night in the rustic ambience of the Stadtmühle.

A trip on the Möwe passenger boat across the picturesque Haltern reservoir is a real treat for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation. Municstreet is a 4-piece band from Essen that started out 35 years ago as a cover band. For the past 15 years, the band has dedicated itself exclusively to its own songs. You can therefore look forward to a concert under the motto "rock music made with passion". Municstreet's music covers a very varied spectrum from rocking "numbers" to atmospheric ballads. Their music, which reminds listeners of songs by The Police, Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd, among others, is difficult to categorise. A journalist once described their music as "rock music but somehow different". Municstreet reached the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest in 2021 with the song "Different" and the final in 2022 with the song "A time of mourning". In 2023, her album "Kind of different" was honoured with the German Rock & Pop Award 2023 as 'Best Alternative Album'.

"The walks are characterised by their personal atmosphere and are a good introduction to the district forums," adds Mayor Andreas Stegemann: "There will be enough time for personal exchange."

Founded in 2008 in Doolin, Ireland, Fragile Matt has been touring Ireland, Germany and Holland ever since. David Hutchinson, the founder, with his smoky voice dipped in Irish whiskey, is an original, the ideal interpreter of folk at its finest. FRAGILE MATT is a guarantee for traditional Irish jigs, reels and songs. It promises to be an unforgettable evening with expressive music that will linger on for a long time and spread good humour.

The band members:

David Hutchinson (IRELAND): Vocals, Irish bouzouki. Well known in the session scene for years. If you ask him where he's from, he sometimes says Kilrickle (somewhere in Ireland), sometimes Solingen (somewhere in the Bergisches Land). Both are true. What these places have in common is that nobody knows them....

Andrea Zielke (AUSTRALIA): Vocals, guitar. Little power flea on stage. Played for many years with the folk band "Catalpa".

Katja Winterberg (WUPPERTAL): Bodhrán, violin Drums day and night if you let her. Also played for 16 years in the Wuppertal street percussion band "Slap Attack"

Teacher and mechanical engineer Philipp Pöpping conveys the basics of building physics and heating systems in an easy-to-understand way, presents various heating systems with their advantages and disadvantages and thus offers a decision-making aid for the future.

Participants can also expect energy-saving tips and specific options for analysing their own property with a view to the possible use of a heat pump.
