Hustle and bustle at the weekly market
Fresh and delicious in the heart of the city
Every Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the market square in the city center is transformed into a colourful oasis for connoisseurs and gourmets. The weekly market attracts visitors with a diverse selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, fragrant bouquets of flowers, homemade delicacies and handmade products.
The stalls of regional farmers and producers offer a wide selection of seasonal delicacies. From juicy apples and crunchy salads to fragrant herbs - everyone will find something to their taste here. There is also something for those with a sweet tooth: freshly baked cakes, sweet jams and honey from the region leave nothing to be desired.
From time to time, there are also handmade products such as jewelry, ceramics and textiles to discover. The artisans proudly present their unique pieces and are happy to answer questions and talk to you.
A visit to the weekly market is not only a shopping experience, but also an opportunity to discover the regional diversity and talk to the producers. This is where the heart of the local community beats - a place of exchange, encounters and enjoyment.
Postponed weekly market during the St. Nicholas market on the market square
The traditional weekly market with numerous fresh goods will have to move to Kärntner Platz, near the Siebenteufelsturm, from 25.11. to 16.12.2025.
The annual St. Nicholas market will take place on the market square from 28.11. to 14.12.2025.
The change of location is nothing new for the market traders or their customers. The market stalls on Kärntner Platz between Turmstraße and Rochfordstraße are also in their familiar places. Parking on Kärntener Platz is not permitted on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m.
From December 17, the market square will be open again for the weekly market and all restrictions will be lifted.
