Steverland route
A family cycle path in Münsterland
The small river Stever has its source in Westmünsterland in the farming community of Uphoven near Nottuln on the edge of the Baumberge mountains and flows into the Lippe near Haltern am See after just 58 km.
On the family cycle path that accompanies the Stever, you can expect impressions of the typical Münsterland landscape: from the Stever spring at the foot of the Baumberg, past watermills and beautiful old farmsteads with Baumberg sandstone, to moated castles and nature reserves such as the Rieselfeldern in Appelhülsen and the Steveraue near Olfen.
Children can explore the route with their own cycle path map, "collect" coins and solve puzzles, while adults can find detailed information about the history of the river in the accompanying book or on the information boards. At the interactive stations, you can discover, try out and picnic together.
Impressions of the SteverLandRoute
The SteverLandRoute creates new visibility for a small river and its ecological enhancement. Over a distance of 70 km, it leads through 6 towns and informs young and old about the connections between water, town and country in an experience-oriented way.
The SteverLandRoute is divided into four stages, each of which can also be completed as a day trip with a return journey. We would be happy to plan and organize a cycle tour for you that includes the SteverLandRoute.
In the tour offer selected here, you will find the 4th stage of the route as an outward and return journey. Let yourself be carried away by the little river!
