H 4 - Farmland and Lippe floodplains (21 km)
Hohe Mark Nature Park and the Lippe
The H 4 route takes cyclists through a beautiful and varied forest and farming landscape with old, traditional structures.
From the starting point at the train station, the tour initially heads in a north-westerly direction. It passes through the Hohe Mark forest area, which is criss-crossed by hiking trails and is a small, ice-age forest mountain range made of sandstone. Although it is only a relatively small wooded mountain range, it is the largest contiguous wooded area on the northern edge of the Ruhr region, alongside the Haard to the south.
Places of interest along the route:
Hohe Mark forest area - Lippramsdorf district - Arentz farm café - Lippramsdorf old railroad station - Ostendorf house - Annaberg pilgrimage chapel and pilgrimage church - LWL Roman Museum with Aliso Roman Park.
