H 3 - Roman paths and Roman finds (18 km)
History with stories from an eventful past
Anyone who explores the surroundings of Haltern am See by bike, wants to experience history, so to speak, and embarks on a journey through time, also takes in something of the living space of the Roman legionaries and, with a little imagination, is able to picture the 28-year Roman presence.
Every user of the H 3 route is therefore recommended to stock up on information material on the Roman era of the seaside town of Haltern before going "on tour".
Places of interest along the route:
"Roman Quarter" - LWL Roman Museum with Aliso Roman Park - Hohe Mark forest area - Tannenberg and Bensberg - medieval crossroads - Hexenbuche - Sundern forest area
