Bike leasing for employees
Employee mobility in particular offers good opportunities to promote cycling. Numerous companies already offer their employees the opportunity to lease a company bike - and receive a subsidy towards the leasing rate.
Various providers and companies have now specialized in this "bike leasing" portfolio (e.g. JobRad, Lease-a-bike). The idea is always similar: employees choose the bike they want from a bike dealer, the employer leases the bike and gives it to their employees. They can use the bike whenever they want - not only on the way to work, but also in everyday life, on vacation or for sports. As a rule, employees save up to 40% compared to a conventional purchase. For the employer, this is not only a tool for employee retention, but also an opportunity to position the company for its commitment to climate protection. More information on this can be found at jobrad.org or at lease-a-bike.de.
Electric cargo bikes for companies
The proportion of cargo bikes has now increased significantly - thanks to numerous manufacturers offering them. Cargo bikes are also an issue for companies, e.g. as a replacement for delivery vehicles or for customer visits with luggage.
The state of NRW, for example, promotes electric cargo bikes via the "progres.NRW - low-emission mobility" funding program. This program provides funding for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, purely battery-electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles as well as electric cargo bikes. Companies can submit a corresponding application to the Arnsberg district government. All information on this can be found on the website of the Arnsberg district government: www.bra.nrw.de.
The Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) also currently offers subsidies for e-cargo bikes as part of the directive of the same name(e-cargo bike directive). The purchase of cargo bikes (cargo pedelecs) and cargo trailers with electric drive support is eligible for funding. All information on this can be found at: www.bafa.de.
Funding portals

New funding programs are regularly launched, including for companies and private individuals. It is therefore worth taking a look at the funding database of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy:

The Mobility.NRW funding finder of the Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW offers a simple and intuitive user interface for discovering funding opportunities quickly and easily. The funding priorities and objects come from all areas of mobility.
