Haltern am See is located on the A43 (Wuppertal-Münster), Haltern or Haltern-Lavesum and A52 (Gladbeck-Haltern am See) highways. The route to the city center is signposted from the freeway exits.

We recommend the climate-friendly journey by train. Haltern am See train station is approx. 10 minutes' walk from the market square. The station is regularly served by regional and suburban trains from Bochum, Bottrop, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Münster, Osnabrück, Recklinghausen and Wuppertal.
