Rustic covered wagon ride with natural treasures worth seeing
Your trip starts in a convivial group with the covered wagon from Haltern am See station. Passing the Haltern reservoir, your first destination is the Westup heathland, an old cultivated landscape with special flora and fauna and very attractive at any time of year. Your knowledgeable heathland guide will surprise you with the interesting history and development of this special nature reserve.
Afterwards, you can fortify yourself with a hearty snack in a farm café.
The tour continues towards the Haltern-Sythen district.
Village idyll, the old watermill and Sythen Castle characterize the oldest part of Haltern. Take a look at the small castle garden or enjoy the sound of the Mühlbach stream flowing through the old watermill.
The covered wagon ride now takes you towards the district of Lavesum, where the coffee table is already laid for you in an idyllic restaurant. The covered wagon then takes you back to the starting point.
